Sharjah 24: Al Hawami Suburb Council, affiliated with Sharjah Districts Affairs Department (SDAD), held, on Wednesday, its regular meeting at its headquarters in Khorfakkan.

Strengthening communication with residents

The meeting reflects the council's commitment to strengthening communication with residents, identifying the most prominent needs of the local community, and monitoring community issues within a comprehensive vision that embodies the generous directives of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, aimed at consolidating the role of community councils as an effective link between the community and government agencies.

The meeting was chaired by Khalid Ahmed Buhindi, Chairman of the Suburb Council, and attended by the Vice Chairman, members, and a number of council employees.

The meeting reviewed a number of topics on the agenda, including upcoming community initiatives, proposals to develop communication mechanisms with residents, and follow-up on citizen feedback on services provided, in a manner that meets the aspirations of the suburb's residents and contributes to enhancing the quality of life in Khorfakkan.

Programmes serving different community segments

The meeting served as an important platform for reviewing the activities implemented over the past period and measuring their societal impact. It also explored ways to expand programmes serving various segments of society, particularly youth and the elderly, and to provide a cohesive social environment that reflects the values of interconnectedness and solidarity that characterise the suburbs of the Emirate of Sharjah.

The meeting concluded with a set of recommendations that represent a roadmap for the next phase, emphasising the importance of sustaining fieldwork and continuing to implement quality initiatives that originate from and benefit the community, embodying the Emirate of Sharjah's vision of making community councils partners in development and a key component of a cohesive social fabric.

Council’s approach of positive engagement with citizens

Khalid Ahmed Buhindi, Chairman of Al Hawami Suburb Council, stated in a statement following the meeting that the council is committed to a continuous approach of positive engagement with residents' issues, placing great importance on listening to feedback and suggestions, and activating community participation. He noted that council work is not merely an administrative responsibility, but rather a national mission aimed at serving the people and enhancing their stability.

Buhindi added that the council continues to open direct channels of communication with residents through meetings and visits, ensuring that the council is a home for every individual in Al Hawami. He explained that the meeting was held within the framework of a periodic review of priorities, ensuring rapid responses to developments and enhancing the effectiveness of community work, in coordination with relevant authorities in the Sharjah government.

Buhindi thanked the council members and the working team for their dedicated efforts to achieve the council's goals and serve the residents of Al Hawami, emphasising that everyone is working as a team for the good, comfort, and stability of the suburb's residents.
