SSSD visits anti-narcotics department

Sharjah 24: A delegation from the Sharjah Social Services Department visited the Anti-Narcotics Department at Sharjah Police General Headquarters, as part of efforts to strengthen institutional and community partnerships.

Supporting affected families
The visit aimed to enhance coordination, particularly regarding aid for families of individuals recovering from drug addiction or currently affected. Both sides have agreed on joint criteria and conditions for providing such support.
Discussions included improving the application process for assistance, ensuring transparency, and transitioning to a digital system to record detailed beneficiary information.

Aid under supervision
Under the agreement, if an individual recovers, financial aid is granted directly to them. If not, the support is transferred to their family, all under the supervision of the Anti-Narcotics Department.
Attending the meeting were officials from both sides, including Alia Obaid Al Zaabi and Maha Al Ali from the Social Services Department, and senior officers from the Anti-Narcotics Department. Both parties agreed to hold further meetings to enhance community-focused collaboration.
