SEDD discusses strategic and future plans at Consultative Council

Sharjah 24: Fahad Ahmed Al Khamiri, Director of the Sharjah Economic Development Department (SEDD), stated that during the 13th session of the Sharjah Consultative Council (SCC), the department reviewed the key features of its general policy, as well as its roles in consumer protection and national project support. The discussion focused on comprehensive development plans and measures to improve the emirate's economic sustainability and was held on Thursday at the Council's headquarters, attended by senior officials.

Strategic focus on future development
Speaking with Sharjah 24, Al Khamiri stated that the discussion covered various important topics, beginning with the department's efforts to safeguard customers and control pricing. It also examined the department's future strategic goals to assist Sharjah's economic landscape.

Empowering National Projects
A major focus of the session was the department's role in improving national projects, particularly small businesses, which are considered a critical component of the economic growth framework.

Call for a specialised development unit
Al Khamiri stated that the session also covered the department's future plan, highlighting the importance of establishing an autonomous unit dedicated to Sharjah's overall growth. This project intends to promote the emirate's economic development in line with the government's goals for integrated and sustainable growth.
