Sharjah 24: The Sharjah Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCI) will take part in the International Handicrafts Trade Fair (MIDA 2025), to be held in Florence, Italy, from April 25 to May 1, 2025. MIDA is recognised globally as a premier platform for showcasing traditional and innovative handcrafted products.

UAE Jewelry and Perfume Platform represents Sharjah

SCCI’s participation will be through the UAE Jewelry and Perfume Platform, which includes the “Emirati Goldsmiths” and “Emirates Perfumes” pavilions. This initiative is part of the Chamber’s ongoing efforts to support Emirati entrepreneurs and highlight their creative work on a global stage.

Empowering Emirati designers

The platform provides a space for Emirati designers in the jewelry and perfume sectors to display their innovations, gain international exposure, and expand their business reach. It reflects SCCI’s commitment to fostering homegrown talent and promoting the UAE’s rich cultural and artistic identity.

High-level delegation and showcase of innovation

The Sharjah delegation will be led by His Excellency Abdallah Sultan Al Owais, Chairman of SCCI, and Mona Sultan Al Suwaidi, Director of the Executive Office of the Chairman and head of the Emirati Goldsmiths Platform. Six talented Emirati women designers will present their latest collections of perfumes and jewelry, demonstrating the sector’s growth while preserving Emirati heritage.

Supporting creative industries and global cooperation

Al Owais stated that the Chamber’s participation underscores its commitment to supporting national talent and opening doors for international cooperation. The goal is to connect Emirati entrepreneurs with global counterparts, promoting knowledge exchange and collaboration in perfume and jewelry manufacturing.

Strategic vision and continued engagement

Mona Al Suwaidi reiterated the importance of consistent participation in such global events, noting that MIDA offers valuable opportunities for designers to stay updated on global trends and innovation in their fields.

Strengthening economic ties with Florence

As part of the exhibition agenda, the Sharjah Chamber delegation will also conduct a series of strategic meetings aimed at enhancing economic and business collaboration between Sharjah and Florence.
