Lens on literary beginnings explores authors inspiration

Sharjah 24: The "Lens on literary beginnings" exhibition was unveiled at 06 Mall in Sharjah as part of the centennial celebrations of Sharjah Public Libraries in 2025, according to Anoud Al Juaidi of the Events Management Department of Sharjah Public Libraries. Taking place in nontraditional spaces including cafes and government buildings, this travelling interactive exhibition will introduce people to the library's resources and services while also showcasing its extensive cultural collection.

Highlighting Emirati writers and public engagement

She told "Sharjah 24" that the exhibition presents a unique experience for the public, showcasing works by five Emirati writers and encouraging guests to write a letter to Sharjah discussing the role of libraries. It provides an engaging interactive tour of these authors' early works, illuminating their life stories, biographies, and the publications that launched their careers. By highlighting writers' contributions to society, this exhibition hopes to strengthen literary traditions and provide a platform for new generations of readers and authors.

The show, which is co-organised with the Emirates Writers and Authors Union, is open every day from 10 am to 10 pm till 4 May.
