Sharjah 24: Sheikh Rashid bin Humaid Al Nuaimi, Chairman of the Ajman Municipality and Planning Department, visited the 30th edition of the Rabat International Book Fair, where the Emirate of Sharjah is being celebrated as Guest of Honour.

Appreciation for Emirati cultural contributions

During his visit, Sheikh Rashid praised the Sharjah Pavilion and commended the participation of 18 Emirati cultural and academic institutions. He highlighted their efforts as a reflection of the UAE’s strong investment in culture, heritage, and education.

Strengthening UAE-Morocco cultural ties

Sheikh Rashid met with His Excellency Mohamed Mehdi Bensaid, Moroccan Minister of Youth, Culture, and Communication. The two discussed the deep-rooted relations between the UAE and Morocco, especially in the fields of culture and intellectual heritage.

Showcasing Emirati talent and initiatives

The Sheikh was briefed on key knowledge-driven initiatives by Emirati publishing houses and cultural institutions. He noted how Emirati talent showcases the country’s creative spirit across literature, science, and the arts.

A rich cultural programme

Sheikh Rashid expressed pride in Sharjah’s plan to host over 50 events at the fair, including intellectual dialogues, poetry evenings, children’s workshops, and networking sessions with publishers and creatives from both the UAE and Morocco.
