Ocean Man Sharjah to launch tomorrow at Al Khan Beach

Sharjah 24: Sharjah is set to host the internationally renowned “Ocean Man” open-water swimming competition tomorrow, Saturday, at Al Khan Beach. Organised by the Sharjah Government Media Bureau (SGMB), the two-day event marks the first time the global series arrives in the emirate, promising an action-packed weekend for athletes and spectators alike.

A platform for all levels of swimmers
The championship will bring together top-tier swimmers, open-water enthusiasts, and professional athletes to showcase endurance, speed, and teamwork in a competitive yet exciting environment. With race categories tailored to various skill levels, it offers a unique opportunity to compete in one of Sharjah’s most scenic coastal settings and be part of the expanding Ocean Man series in the UAE.

Saturday schedule: Sprint, youth and relay events
The competition kicks off Saturday with a 2 km challenge at 7:00 am, ideal for swimmers looking to test their speed and stamina. This will be followed by a 500-meter children’s race at 8:30 am for swimmers aged 7 to 14. The morning will continue with a 3×500-meter team relay at 9:00 am, adding a dynamic, group-based challenge.

Sunday schedule: Endurance races take the spotlight
On Sunday, the intensity rises with a 10 km endurance race starting at 7:00 am, followed by a 5 km race at 8:00 am geared towards intermediate swimmers.
