Sharjah24: The Sharjah Sports Council will launch the Under-9 Football League on Friday, April 18, continuing until May 30, taking place at the emirate's club fields. The league will feature 10 teams comprising 200 players from Sharjah "A" and "B," Al Bataeh, Khorfakkan, Dibba Al Hisn, Al Dhaid, Al Madam, Mleiha, and Al Hamriyah. This tournament is part of the council's plan to discover and develop talent to support national youth teams.

The tournament regulations stipulate that each team must feature 16 players, all Emirati citizens born in 2016/2017, and all conditions outlined in the tournament rules will apply. The top two teams from each group will qualify, and the top four teams will be awarded trophies and medals.

The first round will kick off with four matches, all starting at 5 PM. In Group A, Sharjah "A" will face Sharjah "B" at Al Hazana Club, while Al Madam will visit Al Bataeh. In Group B, Mleiha will host Dibba Al Hisn, and Al Dhaid will play against Khorfakkan at home.

Ibrahim Saif bin Ghafan, Acting Director of Sports Affairs and Development, noted that the youth league presents a great opportunity for all participating teams to showcase high-level performances, enhancing the tournament's value and allowing players to reveal their talents. He emphasized that the Council's ongoing support and collaboration with club officials will lead to an ideal organization of this year’s tournament.
