Sharjah International Arabian Horse Festival to kick off April 4

Sharjah 24: The Sharjah Equestrian and Racing Club is set to host the 26th Sharjah International Arabian Horse Festival from April 4 to 6, featuring 251 horses from 12 countries.

The event is held under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Dr Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, and in collaboration with the European Council for Arabian Horse Shows (ECAHO).

Event details

Competitions will take place in an indoor sand arena at the club, with the organising committee led by Sheikh Abdullah bin Majid Al Qasimi and supported by various officials. Judges from multiple countries, including Egypt, Britain, and Germany, will evaluate the performances.

Championships and cultural significance

Key championships at the festival will include categories for fillies, colts, and stallions. Sponsorship from Sharjah International Airport reflects a commitment to preserving UAE cultural heritage and promoting equestrian sports. Officials emphasise the festival's role as a global platform for showcasing purebred Arabian horses and enhancing Sharjah’s cultural prominence.

The event highlights the ongoing support from local leadership for equestrian traditions and signifies Sharjah's dedication to nurturing the status of Arabian horses on a global stage.
