Sharjah completes Eid prayer ground in Khalidiya

Sharjah24: The Sharjah Department of Public Works has completed the construction of the Eid Prayer Ground in Khalidiya, reinforcing efforts to develop religious infrastructure and provide well-equipped facilities that enhance the worship experience.

Designed to accommodate large congregations, especially during Eid prayers, the prayer ground can hold up to 9,640 male worshippers and 2,690 female worshippers. It features spacious walkways for easy access and movement.

The project includes a 400-metre perimeter wall with a two-metre height, four dedicated entrances for men and women, a 92-metre internal partition wall with a gate, a four-metre-high mihrab, and an integrated pulpit for the imam.

This initiative aligns with the emirate’s vision to modernise religious spaces, ensuring they meet high engineering standards and cater to the community’s spiritual needs. Additionally, the Sharjah Directorate of Public Works has also completed the maintenance and enhancement of four Eid prayer grounds in Khorfakkan, further supporting religious infrastructure.
