Sharjah 24: As part of its ongoing efforts to develop academic infrastructure in the Emirate of Sharjah, a delegation from the Sharjah Department of Public Works (SDPW) visited Australia to explore global best practices in the design and construction of university facilities, particularly sports facilities. The visit was organised by the faculty at University of Kalba.

Exploring Leading Australian Institutions

The delegation visited several prestigious academic institutions, including Monash University and Deakin University. During their visit, they met with university officials and learned about the latest technologies used in distributing university facilities according to the highest international standards.

Gaining Insights for University of Kalba Development

The main objective of the visit was to benefit from Australian experiences in developing the second phase of University of Kalba, specifically in designing and implementing sports facilities. This will help enhance the quality of the educational environment and provide integrated facilities that meet the needs of students and faculty members.

Commitment to International Collaboration and Innovation

Engineer Abdullah Al Tuniji, Director of Branches and a member of the visiting delegation, emphasised that the visit aligns with the directives aimed at fostering international collaboration in the development of educational institutions. He noted that the SDPW is committed to adopting sustainable solutions and implementing the latest engineering innovations in its future projects.
