ALPA discusses strategic plan to strengthen linguistic identity

Sharjah 24: The Board of Directors of the Arabic Language Protection Association recently held its first meeting for the 2025-2026 term, led by Dr. Saeed Obaid Salem Al Tunaiji. This gathering, which took place at the Association's headquarters in Sharjah, marked a fresh start aimed at boosting the Arabic language's status and safeguarding its heritage.

During the meeting, the leadership roles within the board were established. Dr. Al Tunaiji was confirmed as the chairman, while Dr. Aisha Al Ghais was appointed as the vice-chairman. Mohammed Shuaib Al Hammadi took on the role of financial and executive director, with Dr. Jamal Yousef Al Zarouni as the secretary. The board also selected leaders for the cultural and media committees, including Wafa Nasser Hareb Al Shamsi, Iman Mustafa Mohammed, and Hanan Mahmoud Moussa, to help promote the organization's cultural initiatives. 

The members discussed plans for the future, focusing on creating a strategic approach to strengthen the Association's presence in the UAE and the broader Arab culture. They explored ideas for unique events that would celebrate the beauty of the Arabic language and address the challenges that young people face due to rapid technological changes. 

Dr. Al Tunaiji stressed the importance of the Association's mission to promote the Arabic language and encouraged collaboration with local government and educational institutions. He expressed deep gratitude to His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, for his steadfast support of the Arabic language and the Association’s efforts. 

Additionally, the board addressed various topics to keep the Association active, emphasizing the need for innovative projects and cultural initiatives aimed at students, educators, and the general public. The Council aims to inspire a love for the Arabic language in future generations and align with the UAE's vision of becoming a global cultural leader. 

The meeting concluded on a positive note, with a shared commitment to foster a brighter future for the Arabic language, reinforcing its significance as an essential part of national identity and culture.
