Jassim Al Balushi, Head of Strategic Management at Sharjah Islamic Bank, stated that these initiatives reflect the bank's commitment to spreading the values of mercy and brotherhood, as well as fostering the spirit of giving during the holy month.
He added that the bank's Iftar tent, which has been running for over 20 years, demonstrates the bank’s keenness to embed charitable and humanitarian principles through quality partnerships and sustainable programmes that contribute to strengthening community solidarity and serving various deserving groups. This aligns with the bank’s vision of achieving sustainable development and enhancing corporate social responsibility.
He explained that the Iftar tent, which is organised annually next to the King Faisal Mosque in Sharjah, provides 1,200 meals daily for fasting individuals, in an atmosphere that reflects compassion among community members and strengthens the spirit of participation and goodwill, with the bank’s employees actively involved in managing and organising the Iftar tent during the blessed month.
In this context, Jassim Al Balushi emphasised that the "Your Mir at Your Door" initiative, organised by the bank in collaboration with the Sharjah Charity International for the sixth consecutive year, aims to support underprivileged families by distributing 4,000 food baskets in various areas of the country. This initiative helps these families meet their basic needs during the holy month.
He added that the concerned teams are keen to deliver the food baskets to the beneficiaries' places of residence, based on approved lists from the Sharjah Charity International, embodying the spirit of the initiative, which bears the slogan "Your Mir at Your Door."
The baskets contain a comprehensive range of essential food and consumer items to ensure the necessary support is provided and to bring joy to the homes of deserving families during this blessed month, reaffirming the bank’s commitment to its social responsibility and reinforcing the values of giving and solidarity.
