Sharjah 24: In the seventh episode of the religious podcast Duroob Al Khair, presented by Sheikh Dr. Salem Al-Doubi, Director of the Religious Guidance and Fatwa Department at the Islamic Affairs Department of Sharjah, he discusses the virtues of prayer and the importance of having good thoughts about God, airing on Sharjah 24's YouTube channel.

The Power of Prayer and the Prophet's Teachings

Sheikh Al-Doubi shares a story from the Prophet Muhammad’s (PBUH) teachings about a companion who called upon God using His greatest name, which, when invoked, guarantees that prayers are answered. The Prophet also introduces the concept of the prayer of necessity, where one seeks God in times of utmost need.

Trust in God’s Mercy

Sheikh Al-Doubi gives the example of Prophet Yunus (Jonah), who prayed while in the belly of the whale, and God answered him. He highlights that bad thoughts about God can be one of the worst barriers to answered prayers.

The episode ends with a Divine hadith: “I am as My servant thinks of Me. If they think well, it is good; if they think ill, it is bad.”
