Sharjah24: The Dibba Al-Hisn Sports and Cultural Club recently held a special ceremony to celebrate the winners of the 16th Holy Quran Competition, which included 58 participants from different age groups. The event took place at the club's headquarters yesterday evening and was attended by notable guests, including Ahmed Abdullah bin Ya'rouf Al Naqbi, the Chairman of the Municipal Council, and Mohammed Ahmed Al Mutawa, the Chairman of the Club’s Board of Directors. Many parents also attended to support their children.

During the ceremony, there was a video presentation honoring Sheikh Zayed for his dedication to promoting kindness and good values. Dr. Mohammed Ahmed Al Mutawa spoke about the significance of the Quran competition in helping participants learn important religious and moral values. He highlighted that this annual event is one the club is proud to host, thanks to collaboration with the Sharjah Noble Quran and Sunnah Establishment and generous support from Sharjah Charity International. He expressed gratitude to everyone who has supported the competition over the years and commended parents for encouraging their children to memorize the Holy Quran. 

The highlight of the evening was the recognition of the winners who received prizes and certificates for their hard work and achievements in various categories of the competition. The event also honored the sponsors and those who helped make the event a success, creating a joyful and proud atmosphere. 

Additionally, recognition was extended beyond just the competitors to include imams, muezzins, jury members, and sponsors. A special award was given for the "Best Voice" in Quran recitation. 

This year’s ceremony introduced a new initiative honoring the "Religious Figure of the Year 2025" in Dibba Al-Hisn, showcasing individuals who have made positive contributions to the community and religion. Sheikh Hassan Amira and Sheikh Khorshid Ahmed Hafez were recognized for their roles in spreading knowledge and teaching the Holy Quran. 

Mahra Abdulaziz Murad Al-Amiri, who achieved first place in the GCC Quran memorization competition for individuals with disabilities, was also recognized for her remarkable accomplishment, serving as a source of pride for many. 

The club also honored Mohammed Rashid Rushoud, a member of the Cultural Committee, for his hard work in supporting cultural and heritage events, helping to strengthen national identity and preserve local traditions. 

Attendees praised the ceremony for its meaningful impact and the efforts of the Dibba Al-Hisn Club in organizing such valuable events that foster a love for the Quran and respect for its memorizers. The evening concluded as another proud achievement for the club, reinforcing its role as a cultural and social leader in the community, guiding future generations with the values derived from the Holy Quran.
