Sharjah 24: The Ramadan Souq for Productive Families in Kalba, organised by the Municipal Council in collaboration with Kalba Municipality and the Social Services Department, features the participation of approximately 20 productive families. Abdul Rahman Al Darmaki, Director of the Kalba Social Services Department branch, revealed this initiative is a key community event.

A daily meeting place for residents

Held in the Al Hosn Heritage District, the market serves as a daily gathering spot for residents and citizens before iftar throughout the holy month of Ramadan. Al Darmaki shared with “Sharjah 24” that this market provides an important opportunity for locals to meet and engage each evening.

Supporting local families and preserving heritage

The market, designed specifically for productive families with small, home-based businesses, offers a variety of Ramadan food items and traditional dishes. Its location in the heart of Kalba's Heritage Fort, one of the city's oldest markets, is a perfect backdrop for promoting local heritage and traditions.

Engaging activities for the community

In addition to providing a sales platform for local families, the market hosts engaging activities, such as drawing and coloring workshops for children. These activities aim to enhance community involvement and help preserve cultural traditions across generations.
