Enlightened spirits emit poetry
Poetry and poets were lauded by Mahjoub in his introductory remarks. He said that poets can avoid many things, but poetry is their essence; thus, they can never truly refrain from it. His lyrical expressions reflected their fragile spirits, which he compared to glimmering light.
Heavenly light gardens
Sheikha Al-Mutairi, a gifted poet, began the evening's recitation with a poem praising the Prophet Mohammed (peace be upon him). Her devotion was like that of a spirit living in heavenly gardens, captivated by the Prophet's radiant presence at all times.
The inspiration is glass
The dramatic intensity of Al-Mutairi's poetry is what sets it apart: the poet often depicts her struggles with unrealised dreams or intensely moving experiences. She frequently employs dialogue and delicate imagery in her poetry. This is reflected in her poem “The Inspiration of Glass.”
Musab Bayrutiya
In the second recital, Musab Bayrutiya went onto the stage. He, too, began with a poem that praised the Prophet Mohammed, peace be upon him. Loving the Prophet brought him spiritual enlightenment, which he expressed in his verses.
