The programme, presented by His Excellency Dr. Abdul Aziz Al Musallam, Chairman of Sharjah Institute for Heritage (SIH), opens a window on this ancient art, reviewing its aesthetics and styles, and contributing to reviving the poetic heritage.
Starting with Rakan bin Hithlain, Mohammed bin Muslim, Kuwaiti poet Abdullah Al Faraj, Nimr Al Adwan, and Saeed Al Badeed Al Mannai, the programme offers viewers this season, in the post-Iftar period and for about 20 minutes, a meal rich in cultural and literary information.
The programme includes the recitation of the most important verses composed by the episode’s poet, while shedding light on important aspects of his life.
Dr. Abdul Aziz Al Musallam does not limit himself to talking about the poets’ poems only, but rather places them within their historical and social context to extract a set of values that poets focused on, such as courage, generosity, and belonging to the homeland, among others.
With his smooth style and profound presentation, “Shado Horof” was able to be more than just a programme for popular poetry and poets, but rather an intellectual experience that explores the lives of people in the past and the historical circumstances that accompanied these poets and the human and social dimensions that shaped their personalities and influenced their literary production.
“Shado Horof” programme is distinguished by an attractive visual style that enhances the viewer's experience, as it uses simple drawings or animated images that place the viewer in the context of the events and topics that are being addressed, which adds a lively and influential character to the explanation that the presenter elaborates on.
