Sharjah24: The players of the Sharjah Self-Defence Sports Club soared to victory, claiming the jiu-jitsu championship title at the Nad Al Sheba Sports Tournament, organised by the Emirates Jiu-Jitsu Federation in collaboration with the Dubai Sports Council.
Sharjah Club wins Jiu-Jitsu title
The players of the Sharjah Club for Martial Arts clinched the jiu-jitsu title at the Nad Al Sheba Sports Tournament, concluding the competitions yesterday, Thursday.
Event organisation and dignitaries
The event, organised by the UAE Jiu-Jitsu Federation in collaboration with the Dubai Sports Council, was attended by several dignitaries, including Saeed Hareb, Secretary-General of the Dubai Sports Council, Youssef Abdullah Al-Batran, a board member of the UAE Jiu-Jitsu Federation, and Adel Al-Banai, a member of the organising committee and head of the technical committee for the Nad Al Sheba Sports Tournament.
Competition results
At the end of the adult category competitions, the players from the Sharjah Club for Martial Arts took the title, while the Al Ain Jiu-Jitsu Club secured the runner-up position, and the third place went to Baniyas Jiu-Jitsu Club.

Youssef Abdullah Al-Batran emphasised the importance of the partnership between the federation and the Dubai Sports Council in organizing this special event annually as part of the Nad Al Sheba Sports Tournament.
Personal achievement and values
For his part, Khaled Mohammed Al-Shuhi, a black belt player from Al Ain Club and the national team, who won gold in the adult category at 62 kg, stated that winning during the holy month at the Nad Al Sheba Sports Tournament gives him an exceptional feeling, especially since it symbolizes not just a sports victory, but also embodies the values of diligence, perseverance, and patience represented by this blessed month.
Competitive atmosphere
He added that the atmosphere was competitive, and he faced strong opponents, but the spirit of challenge, determination, and support from the coaching staff, along with the experience he gained from years of practicing the sport, helped him achieve this accomplishment.
