Sharjah Police inaugurate the 32nd Ramadan tournament

ٍSharjah24: On Monday evening, the Sharjah Police General Command officially kicked off its 32nd edition of the annual Ramadan tournament. Organised by the Sports and Social Activities Section, this year’s tournament sees participation from the General Command of the Amiri Guard, along with several government entities across the emirate. The sporting event is set to continue until the 19th of Ramadan.

 High-ranking officials present at the opening 

The launch event was attended by several senior officials, including Brigadier General Ahmed Haji Al Serkal, Director General of the General Department of Community Protection and Prevention; Brigadier General Dr Ahmed Saeed Al Naour, Director General of Operations and Security Support; Brigadier General Dr Mohammed Khamis Al Othmani, Director General of Sharjah Police Academy; Brigadier General Abdullah Ibrahim bin Nassar, Director General of Resources and Support Services; Brigadier General Omar Ahmed Boualzaoud, Director General of Criminal Security and Border Points; and Brigadier General Ibrahim Musabah Al Ajal, Director General of Comprehensive Police Stations. A number of directors of various departments and officials were also present at the event. 

 A variety of competitive sporting events 

Taking place at the Police Club, the tournament features an array of sporting contests, with 198 teams and a total of 457 players competing. The opening day witnessed intense matches in football and tug-of-war, showcasing the participants’ physical endurance and high levels of fitness. Football matches will continue in the coming days, accompanied by competitions in volleyball, padel tennis, table tennis, and swimming events ranging from 50 to 100 metres. 

Moreover, the tournament also includes women’s competitions, featuring events such as archery, air rifle shooting, and padel tennis.
