Sharjah 24: Qatari driver Nasser Al-Attiyah clinched victory in the third stage of the Abu Dhabi Desert Rally, defeating Toyota's Seth Quintero by 3 minutes and 59 seconds. The “E& stage,” known as one of the most challenging in the rally, saw Al-Attiyah take the stage win, with Toyota’s Lucas Moraes finishing third, just 30 seconds behind.

Al-Attiyah takes overall lead

With his stage win, Al-Attiyah surged to the overall lead. However, his teammate, Sebastien Loeb, received a two-minute penalty for speeding, dropping him to third place in the overall standings, 1 minute and 57 seconds behind Moraes.

The rally, under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Zayed Al Nahyan, is organized by the Emirates Motorsports Organisation and Abu Dhabi Sports Council.

Motorcycle and Quad victories

In the motorcycle category, Honda’s Tosha Charena regained the overall lead, beating KTM’s Luciano Benavides by 2 minutes and 15 seconds. In the Quads category, Emirati rider Abdul Aziz Ahli dominated, finishing 11 minutes and 17 seconds ahead of Poland’s Marcin Wielkolik.
