At just 17 years and 299 days old, Andreeva broke the record for the youngest winner of a 1,000-point tournament. These prestigious tournaments, established in 2009, are considered the most important after the four Grand Slam events. No player under 19 had won such a title before, with American Coco Gauff previously holding the record.
With this win, Andreeva will rise to 9th in the world rankings, becoming the first 17-year-old to break into the top 10 since Czech player Nicole Vaidisova in 2007.
This victory marks Andreeva’s second career title, following her win at the 2024 Iasi Open in Romania. She also earned a silver medal in the Paris Olympics doubles competition with compatriot Diana Schnyder.
