The "Hussn Al-Khatimah" Mosque, located in the Barashi area of Sharjah, was built in a modern Islamic architectural style with the support of a philanthropist, on a plot of land measuring 4,072 square metres. The mosque includes the prayer hall and service facilities, with a capacity for 400 worshippers, 80 of whom can be accommodated in the women’s prayer area.
The opening ceremony of the mosque was attended by His Excellency Abdullah Khalifa Ya’rouf Al Sebousi, Director of the Department of Islamic Affairs, along with the donor who funded the mosque’s construction and a number of Islamic affairs officials.
In the city of Kalba, the department also inaugurated the "Al-Bara’ bin Aazib" Mosque in the Al-Saf area, built in the Islamic architectural style with the help of a philanthropist. The mosque sits on a plot of land measuring 2,601 square metres, including the prayer hall and service facilities, and can accommodate 850 worshippers, 100 of whom can be in the women’s prayer area.
Additionally, the department opened the "Dhat Al-Nitaqayn" Mosque in the Al-Ghail area of Kalba. Built in a style blending Islamic and Fatimid architectural features, this mosque was also funded by a philanthropist and occupies 1,747 square metres. It includes the prayer hall and service facilities, with space for 350 worshippers, including 50 in the women’s prayer area.
Abdullah Khalifa Ya’rouf Al Sebousi, Director of the department, stated that the opening of these three mosques is part of the department’s plan to inaugurate 20 mosques across various neighbourhoods and cities in the emirate in preparation for the start of the blessed month of Ramadan. This aligns with the vision of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, in building and distributing mosques evenly across all areas, ensuring easy access for residents and visitors to meet their religious needs while providing a spiritual environment.
He also highlighted that the three mosques are distinguished by their unique architectural styles, which showcase the beauty of Islamic architecture.
Al-Saboosi praised the efforts of philanthropists in the emirate for their contributions to the construction and upkeep of mosques, praying that Allah rewards them for their generosity. He also commended the work of various relevant government departments and institutions, noting their role in facilitating the construction process and expediting mosque-building procedures through their collaborative efforts.
