Dibba Al Hisn Club organises 2nd community cultural festival

The opening ceremony was held in the heritage village, in the presence of prominent figures, led by His Excellency Ahmed Abdullah bin Yarouf Al Naqbi, Chairman of Dibba Al Hisn Municipal Council; His Excellency Adel Alwan Al Naqbi, Director of the Amiri Diwan; His Excellency Dr. Mohammed Ahmed Al Mutawa, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Dibba Al Hisn Sports and Cultural Club; and His Excellency Mohammed Abdullah Al Taraban Al Hamoudi, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Dibba Al Hisn Football Company, in addition to members of the Consultative Council and heads and directors of government departments and bodies in the city.

Consolidating sports and cultural values

The ceremony began with the UAE national anthem, marking the launch of the festival, followed by a speech by Dr. Mohammed Ahmed Al Mutawa, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Dibba Al Hisn Sports and Cultural Club and Chairman of the Organising Committee of the Events, in which he stressed that the festival reflects the directives of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, who pays great attention to culture and sports, and is keen to support various events that contribute to enhancing the spirit of the community and consolidating sports and cultural values.

Al Mutawa pointed out that the festival reflects the partnership between Dibba Al Hisn Sports and Cultural Club and Dibba Al Hisn Football Company, as is a result of fruitful cooperation and a collective spirit that seeks to advance the sports and cultural fields in the city. 

Al Mutawa concluded his speech by extending thanks and appreciation to the loyal fans of the club, as well as to all the local institutions and departments that provided their unlimited support to make this event a success.

Artistic events
 
The first day of the festival saw a variety of events that attracted the audience in a distinctive festive atmosphere, as the “Al Washahat Al Harbiah” Band presented a heritage show, followed by a sports drum show that added a rhythmic touch to the event. 

Sports Personality of the Year

His Excellency Abdullah Ali bin Yarouf Al Naqbiwas honoured as the Sports Personality of the Year, whereas he held many sports and governmental positions, including the former Chairmanship of the Board of Directors of Dibba Al Hisn Sports Club, and left his mark in the sports field with his leadership spirit and high morals, to be a role model in the city.

Sports families award

Continuing the atmosphere of honouring, the winners of the Sports Families Award were announced, with three prominent sports families winning, namely the family of Sultan Tamim Al Riyami, the family of Mr. Abdullah Zaid Badr Al Dhahouri, and the family of Mr. Salem Ali Al Khalidi, in appreciation of their role in supporting sports and active participation in sports events.

After the honours, recreational and sports activities resumed, with female students presenting a sports show that was well received by the audience, followed by the organisation of the interactive "Kahoot" competition, which encouraged participants to interact and compete in an exciting atmosphere. The sports evening also saw many entertainment competitions and daily draws, which added a distinctive character to the events, amidst a large audience keen to follow this special event in the heritage village.

The festival's activities continue, as various sports competitions are scheduled to be held, in addition to rhythmic gymnastics shows, and “Al Awaid War” Band shows, along with many diverse competitions that promise the audience more fun and excitement within the framework of this cultural sports festival, which has become a prominent mark in the annual events agenda of the city of Dibba Al Hisn.
