Sharjah 24 – WAM: Dutch rider Lorena Wiebes secured her second win in the third edition of the UAE Women's Tour, dominating the second stage held in the Al Dhafra region. The 111 km race, named "Community Year," saw Wiebes finish with a time of 2:17:35 hours, maintaining her strong performance after her first-stage win.

Impressive performance and lead in overall standings

Wiebes, representing SD Works, showcased her experience in closing the gap with the leading group to finish with the highest average speed of the tour, 48.4 km/h. She comfortably surpassed second-place finisher, American Lily Williams from Human Powered Health. With her second stage victory, Wiebes continues to lead the overall standings with a total time of 6:14:52 hours, holding a 13-second advantage over Irish Lara Gillespie and 14 seconds over Williams.

Jerseys and other key results

Wiebes retained the red jersey, signifying her overall lead, and the green jersey for points leader. She increased her points tally to 40, followed by Gillespie with 22, and Elisa Longo Borghini with 20. Belgian Julie De Wilde, from the Phoenix Decoink team, took the white jersey as the best young rider, while Carline Swinkels earned the black jersey for the medium-speed stage with 13 points.

Crowning ceremony and awards

The winners of the stage and jerseys were honored by notable officials, including His Excellency Aref Hamad Al Awani, Secretary General of Abu Dhabi Sports Council, and several other dignitaries.
