Sharjah 24: The draw for the third edition of the Mubadala Abu Dhabi Open Tennis Championship for Women, a 500 points event, took place today, Saturday, at the International Tennis Complex in Zayed Sports City. Organised by the Abu Dhabi Sports Council and held under the Women's Tennis Association umbrella, the event is shaping up to be an exciting competition.

Top players bypass round of 32

The draw ensured that the four highest-ranked players were exempt from the round of 32. These players include Kazakhstan’s Elena Rybakina, the reigning champion, fellow Kazakh Yulia Potentseva, Spain’s Paula Badosa, and Russia’s Daria Kasatkina.

Exciting matchups in the first round

The draw set up a series of thrilling first-round matchups, including Tunisian Ons Jabeur facing Latvia’s Jelena Ostapenko. Russian players Ludmila Samsonova and Polina Kudermetova will also meet, while Canada’s Leila Fernandez plays Russia’s Ekaterina Alexandrova. French player Caroline Garcia will compete against New Zealand's Lulu Son. Six players from the preliminary qualifiers will join the round of 32.
