Sharjah24: The Operations Centre at the Sharjah Police Headquarters stepped in to aid a driver whose vehicle's cruise control failed while travelling at a speed of 130 km/h. The officers managed the situation with professionalism, soothing the driver, offering reassurance, and delivering the required instructions.
Colonel Dr Hamdan Al Tunaiji, Acting Director of the Operations Centre at Sharjah Police, reported that a call was made regarding a vehicle that was experiencing a cruise control failure on the Sharjah-Al Dhaid Road. After receiving the report, the Operations Centre collaborated with nearby patrols to secure and escort the vehicle. In the meantime, the staff at the centre provided the driver with clear instructions for disabling the cruise control, allowing him to safely stop the vehicle without any injuries. Subsequently, patrol officers assessed his condition.
Dr Al Tunaiji highlighted the centre’s dedication to swift action and expert management of emergency calls by trained professionals, thereby improving public safety and security. He encouraged drivers to adhere to traffic regulations, perform routine vehicle maintenance, and promptly report any technical issues through the emergency number 999 to guarantee swift action and safeguard lives and property.
