The municipality delegation embarked on a field tour through green farm areas, embodying Sharjah's vision for agricultural expansion and supporting sustainability efforts. The visit aimed to deepen understanding of the vital components of the project, which seeks to achieve food security and enhance local agricultural resources to serve the national economy.
During the tour, the delegation learned about the diverse details of the farm, from its extensive area to the carefully developed wheat strains in its laboratories. Here, varieties suitable for Sharjah's unique agricultural environment and soil are being researched.
Employees were informed about the emirate's ambitious agricultural strategy adopted by the Department of Agriculture and Livestock. This strategy aims to create a sustainable and integrated model for agricultural production.
His Excellency Mubarak Rashid Al Shamsi, Director of the Al Hamriyah Municipality, expressed gratitude to the Department of Agriculture and Livestock. He praised the effective collaboration with His Excellency Dr. Khalifa Musabah Al Tunaiji, the department head, and all staff members contributing to sustainable agricultural development.
Al Shamsi noted that this visit is part of the "Wheat Festival" organised by the Department of Agriculture and Livestock. The festival highlights pioneering achievements and emphasises that the Mleiha farm continues the journey of sustainable agricultural development and self-sufficiency.
Al Shamsi pointed out that these projects embody the vision of the Ruler of Sharjah, who emphasises adopting practical solutions to enhance agriculture, ensuring local food supply while preserving the environment and natural resources.
He commended the diligent efforts of the department to develop a modern agricultural infrastructure that meets current needs and establishes a strong foundation for achieving future goals.
