SSSD celebrates graduation of 1st batch of 'Counselling Diploma'

Sharjah 24: In cooperation with Al Qasimia University, the Sharjah Social Services Department (SSSD) celebrated the graduation of 25 employees from its various departments and branches, as part of the first batch of holders of the Diploma in Psychological and Family CounselLing Programme, during a ceremony held at Al Qasimia University Theatre.

This programme comes within the framework of the fruitful partnership between the SSSD and Al Qasimia University, with the aim of preparing and qualifying specialised cadres capable of providing psychological and social support to individuals and families, and contributing to enhancing the stability and well-being of society.

Combining theoretical and practical aspects

Samia Al Hosani, Director of Human Resources at the SSSD, confirmed that the programme was carefully prepared to combine theoretical and practical aspects, as it included 100 accredited study hours, distributed over 20 hours for each course, and was held twice a week in the university’s training hall.

Benefiting from distinguished academic and professional expertise

Al Hosani added that a group of faculty members supervised the implementation of the programme, which provided participants with the opportunity to benefit from distinguished academic and professional expertise, noting that this programme embodies the department’s keenness to enhance cooperation with its strategic partners, with the aim of providing high-quality social services that contribute to achieving sustainable development and improving the quality of life for members of society.

She also stressed the importance of preparing qualified cadres who contribute to supporting the social and psychological field with efficiency and professionalism.

Pride

In his speech during the ceremony, Dr. Jassim Al Hammadi, Director of the Knowledge Office at the SSSD, expressed his pride in the graduates’ achievements, stressing that diligence and perseverance are the key to success, and that today’s graduates have become ambassadors of the department, carrying on their shoulders a message of positive change that contributes to improving the lives of individuals and families, and embodies the human and professional values that the department seeks to achieve.

Thanks and appreciation

Al Hammadi also extended his thanks and appreciation to Al Qasimia University, represented by its administration and faculty members, for their great support in making this programme a success. He also praised the commitment and dedication of the members who deserved this honour, wishing them a successful career that contributes to serving the community and achieving the goals of sustainable development.
