Sharjah 24: The Farm Encroachment Removal Committee in Sharjah has highlighted the importance of agricultural lands and farms provided to citizens. These farms are designed to help people earn a livelihood and ensure food security by encouraging them to use the land for farming and raising livestock. Any activities outside of this focus are considered against the rules and purpose of these farms.

Khalid bin Falah Al Suwaidi, the Chairman of the Committee, emphasized that successfully using these lands helps achieve Sharjah’s goals for economic variety and food security. By promoting agriculture, these farms can produce a wide range of crops that benefit the local market and provide financial rewards for farmers, showcasing the emirate’s commitment to supporting the agricultural community.

Al Suwaidi also pointed out that some farmers tend to rent out their farms for other uses during the winter, which goes against their intended purpose. This can lead to problems for neighbouring farms and also puts renters at risk if their privacy is compromised or if they face any issues.

To tackle these problems, the Committee is increasing its oversight and awareness efforts to address these violations swiftly. They aim to protect the integrity of farms, maintain a peaceful environment, and support agricultural growth and community awareness.
