Sharjah 24: Fadhila Al Muaini, the President of the UAE Journalists Association, warmly welcomed everyone—members, visitors, and media professionals—from around the world who gathered in the UAE to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the association. This organization has played a significant role in the development of journalism in the UAE and has helped to enhance its reputation both in the Arab world and internationally.

Al Muaini expressed heartfelt gratitude to the country's leadership for being strong supporters of free and responsible journalism. She emphasized the importance of journalism as a means of cultural exchange and for fostering national identity, which is crucial for achieving long-term growth.

During the celebration, Al Muaini announced that the association is entering its next phase with a fresh vision prepared to meet the challenges of the modern digital media landscape. They have put together a plan for the next three years, featuring innovative programs and initiatives. A state-of-the-art media center has also been established to serve as a hub for journalistic activities and a training ground for journalists at all levels, both local and international. This center reflects their commitment to improving media standards and developing the profession.

The association introduced a new guideline titled the Charter of Freedom and Responsibility, capturing the essence of their mission: “Identity is a priority, and freedom is a responsibility.” This charter aims to guide journalists in facing current challenges, promoting responsible freedom of expression while safeguarding society against misinformation and rumors.

Additionally, they recognized the contributions of pioneering journalists from the UAE, Gulf region, and the Arab world who have made lasting impacts on the industry. Their hard work and dedication serve as inspiration for future generations of media professionals. The association also honored the founders of the Emirates Journalists Association for their honesty and commitment in laying the groundwork for journalism in the country.

Concluding her speech, Al Muaini thanked everyone for being present and engaged in this important gathering, hoping that the media continues to thrive and achieve excellence based on authenticity and professionalism.
