The campaign's aid included 50,000 beneficiaries affected by the harsh weather conditions during the winter in Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Bangladesh, Kosovo, Albania, Egypt and refugee camps in Jordan, at a financial cost exceeding 1.5 million dirhams.
Khaled Hassan Al Ali, Director of Projects and External Aid Department, stated that the Warm Winter Campaign is a seasonal aid through which the association intensifies its efforts to support benefactors to provide heating materials for the poor and needy around the world.
The association’s delegations tour the targeted areas, based on the field study conducted by the association’s offices and then distribute tools and means that keep those in need warm.
Al Ali pointed out that materials were provided in accordance with what is practiced in each country, so that those in need can benefit from this aid in a way that achieves a decent life for them and secures their basic needs for heating.
Al Ali explained that the campaign’s aid included heating materials like warm clothes, in addition to heavy blankets, coal and firewood, noting that the campaign enhances the values of support, solidarity and assistance to others, and the continuous work to support and empower the needy and provide the basic needs for a safe life.
Al Ali extended Sharjah Charity International thanks to the generous donors for their support of the campaign and all the association’s campaigns and projects within and outside the UAE. He also extended the association’s sincere thanks to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the UAE embassies in the countries covered by the aid for the great support and efforts they provide in facilitating the association’s tasks to reach the remote areas.
