On the occasion of Arab Orphan Day, celebrated on the first Friday of April each year, Sheikh Saqr bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Chairman of the Board of Directors, emphasized the importance of caring for orphans as a core aspect of the association's charitable programs. He reaffirmed the organization's dedication to implementing humanitarian initiatives designed to provide a dignified life for orphans through financial, educational, and healthcare support.
Sheikh Saqr Al Qasimi highlighted that the association goes beyond financial assistance, striving to establish an integrated environment that includes psychological and social care. This is achieved through recreational and awareness programs aimed at enhancing the orphans' integration into society and equipping them with essential skills for their future.
The Chairman confirmed that the charity is continuously working to enhance its orphan sponsorship programmes to meet the growing needs of these children. Various initiatives are being implemented to improve their conditions and facilitate better access to education and healthcare.
According to the association's statistics, Sheikh Saqr noted that their efforts in 2024 extended beyond orphans. The charity provided 222 sponsorships for families at a cost of AED 1,057,500, along with 34 sponsorships for individuals with disabilities valued at AED 126,000. Additionally, 81 sponsorships for imams and teachers totaling AED 354,843, and eight student sponsorships worth AED 41,760 were also provided. Overall, the charity offered 28,912 sponsorships in the previous year, amounting to AED 69,745,128. These figures reflect the association's commitment to supporting the most needy groups and fostering social solidarity while contributing to sustainable development within the community.
