Sharjah24: The Sharjah Sports Council (SSC) has officially opened registration for the Mleiha Mountain Bike Challenge, scheduled for Sunday, December 15, as part of its ongoing community sports initiatives. The event will feature a 26-kilometer route, commencing and concluding in Mleiha City, with the race set to start at 7:30 a.m.
The winners will be recognised at the conclusion of the race, featuring categories for UAE nationals, women, and an open category. Participants will be awarded unique commemorative medals showcasing a design that highlights the Mleiha desert, a mountain bike, and the date of the event.
Dr. Yasser Omar Al Doukhi, Director of Sports and Community Events Department, emphasised that the challenge stands out as one of the year's most thrilling events, showcasing the increasing enthusiasm for cycling among sports fans. He conveyed assurance regarding the event's success and its beneficial effects, highlighting the Council’s dedication to delivering an exceptional experience for attendees.
He also affirmed that all preparations have been made to guarantee a memorable and enjoyable event, further enhancing the Council’s track record of successful community sports initiatives.
