Sharjah Police Unveils New Applied Training City

Sharjah24: Major General Abdullah Mubarak bin Amer, Commander-in-Chief of Sharjah Police and Vice Chairman of the Sharjah Police Science Academy, inaugurated the Applied Training City at the Police Institute in Al-Khedira. The event included an impressive field demonstration, attended by key academy and police officials, as well as a large audience of officers and trainees.

The ceremony featured a collaborative military and security display organised by the academy in partnership with the Sharjah Police General Command. Participants included officer cadets, academy trainees, the Sharjah Civil Defence Authority, the Air Wing of the Ministry of Interior, and various Sharjah Police departments, including Special Tasks, Operations, Community Policing, and K9 units.

Major General bin Amer emphasised that the city aligns with the visionary guidance of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, and the supportive leadership of His Highness Sheikh Sultan bin Mohammed bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Crown Prince and Deputy Ruler. This project represents a strategic leap toward enhancing security preparedness and supporting Sharjah’s comprehensive police modernization goals.

He highlighted the city as a proactive step in addressing security challenges, training police forces through realistic simulations, and ensuring the highest standards of safety for the community. The dynamic performances by the officers reflected Sharjah Police’s dedication to equipping its personnel with the practical skills needed to respond to crises with professionalism and efficiency.

Bin Amer expressed his gratitude to the Sharjah Police Science Academy and all participating entities and security personnel for their contributions to the remarkable field display. He noted that the demonstration reflected advanced technical, tactical, and field capabilities in managing various security scenarios. He affirmed that the performance highlighted the high level of readiness and preparedness of Sharjah Police and associated security entities to ensure safety and effectively address future challenges.

In his opening speech, Brigadier General Dr. Mohammed Khamis Al Othmani, Director General of the Sharjah Police Academy, emphasised that the establishment of the Applied Training City aims to enhance strategic objectives and provide students with practical training that simulates real-world scenarios. These include crime scene investigations, VIP protection, raids, arrests, and searches, in addition to fostering coordination between security agencies and support entities. This initiative measures team readiness and elevates their capabilities to tackle diverse challenges.

Al Othmani added that the academy is committed to developing police personnel and officer cadets by offering all necessary scientific and practical facilities. This dedication, guided by the support and directives of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, and His Highness Sheikh Sultan bin Mohammed bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Crown Prince and Deputy Ruler is a cornerstone of the academy's mission.

He highlighted the UAE's focus on forward-looking and proactive strategies in security plans and programs. The academy aims to fortify the Sharjah Police General Command’s reputation for efficiency and readiness, dedicating all resources and efforts to ensure safety and reassurance for UAE citizens and residents.

The inauguration included practical demonstrations of responses to significant security incidents. It showcased the role of Sharjah Police's mobile operations room and event management center in coordinating field operations among police, civil defense, and ambulance units. The mobile operations room serves as a critical support system, ensuring rapid responses to emergencies and maintaining security.

The event concluded with Major General bin Amer and Brigadier General Al Othmani honouring the participating entities, partners, and collaborators.
