Sharjah24: Dr. Abdullah Belhaif Al Nuaimi, Chairman of the Sharjah Consultative Council (SCC) , welcomed Artak Avetisyan, the Consul General of Armenia in Dubai, along with Her Excellency Anna Matevosyan, Assistant Consul General, to his office at the Council’s headquarters. They were joined by Sheikha Ali Al Naqbi, a Member of the Sharjah Consultative Council as well as the Head of the Education, Culture, Media and Youth Affairs Committee, and Sheikha Aldhain Al Naqbi, also a Member of the Council and the Committee.
This meeting underscores Sharjah’s commitment to bolstering its role as a global hub for cultural and human interaction, in line with the vision of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, who aims to foster dialogue among the peoples of the world.
At the start of the meeting, Dr. Al Nuaimi warmly welcomed the Armenian delegation, highlighting the strong historical ties between the United Arab Emirates and Armenia. He reiterated Sharjah’s dedication to strengthening cultural, economic, and tourism cooperation, which will significantly contribute to sustainable development in both nations.
The Consul General expressed his heartfelt gratitude to His Highness the Ruler of Sharjah for his exceptional efforts to enhance relations between the UAE and Armenia. He noted the Ruler’s initiatives, which have included the preservation of several vital projects in Armenia, including ancient churches and historically significant sites, showcasing the UAE’s commitment to cultural and historical cooperation.
The meeting also addressed various topics of mutual interest, focusing on ways to further develop bilateral relations between Sharjah and Armenia in the cultural, educational, media, and parliamentary sectors. Both sides emphasized the importance of shared experiences and cultural dialogue to foster a deeper understanding between their peoples.
Both parties reaffirmed their commitment to continued collaboration through initiatives and projects that strengthen the ties between the UAE and Armenia. The Armenian delegation expressed its eagerness for increased cooperation in the near future, reflecting the leadership's vision in both countries to establish fruitful strategic partnerships.
