Sharjah24: Dr. Salem Al Doubi, the Director of the Preaching and Iftaa Department at Sharjah Islamic Affairs Department, announced that the Istisqa prayer was held today, Saturday, at 11 am across the nation. This prayer, rooted in the tradition of the Prophet Muhammad, peace and blessings be upon him, serves as a way to call for a downpour. The initiative aligns with the esteemed directives of President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, who encourages the community to come together in prayer, seeking God’s mercy and asking for rainfall to benefit both the people and the land.
Al Doubi noted that water is a tremendous blessing from God Almighty. It is the foundation of life, reflecting the truth of God's words.: “Wa Ja`alna Minal Maa'i Kulla Shay'in Hayyin” (We have created every living thing from water)

He mentioned in statements to “Sharjah 24” that when the rains don’t arrive on time, the earth suffers, flowers wither, and people face difficulties. As a response to this, it has been prescribed for us to perform the Istisqa prayer, just as the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, did. Following this tradition, President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan issued a royal order for the Istisqa prayer to be held in all mosques across the country, seeking divine mercy in the form of rain.

At the conclusion of his speech, Al Doubi expressed, “We pray to God Almighty to bless our nation and its people with goodness and rain, making it fruitful and beneficial for everyone.”
