Sharjah 24: Sharjah Women's Sports Team defended its Women's Volleyball League title for the 2024-2025 season, winning three sets to two over the American University in Dubai team, one of the most prominent teams in the league.
The match was held at the Sharjah Women's Sports Club Hall, and saw a strong performance that reflects the team's high readiness.
In preparation for this season, the team has been attending internal and external camps since August, including two external camps in Turkey during the months of September, October and November.
Coach Karim Ben Ayad stated that preparations included 10 external friendly matches and 5 internal matches, during which there was a focus on raising the level of technical harmony and addressing any weaknesses
Ben Ayad added that the current season is characterised by a high level of competition with strong preparations for most teams and their signing of new professionals. Despite the difficulty of the opening match, the players showed a high level of challenge and discipline, which makes the club confident of completing the season strongly.
Player Latifa Al Kaabi praised the importance of the first victory, saying that the opening match was a big challenge, especially since it was against a strong team. But the spirit of challenge that brought the team together and the continuous support from the club and the institution helped the team achieve victory. She added that the team ambition this season is to retain the title and deliver a distinguished performance in every match.
The team is now preparing to face Fatima Bint Mubarak Academy on December 7, 2024, amid expectations of a strong match that will enhance its ambition to continue the journey of success and achieve titles.
