Sharjah24: The Sharjah Capabilty Development (Tatweer) is excited to introduce its “Design and Build” programme, a key initiative designed to support young individuals planning to construct their dream homes. The programme will run over four days in December—on the 14th, 15th, 21st, and 22nd—in Sharjah. It aims to equip participants with essential skills, practical knowledge, and a step-by-step guide to begin building a home that reflects their personal preferences and meets their needs.
The programme offers a comprehensive experience, taking participants through every stage of home construction. This includes developing initial ideas, creating preliminary designs, selecting suitable contractors, and overseeing construction phases—from laying the foundation to completing the finishing touches and implementing maintenance plans. To provide hands-on learning, participants will also visit active construction sites to apply the concepts covered in the programme.
Additionally, the workshop includes visits to interior design stores, where participants can explore the latest trends and materials to enhance their homes' functionality and aesthetics. The programme is offered in collaboration with the Federal Tax Authority, which will guide participants on how to claim VAT refunds when building new homes.
Khalid Ibrahim Al Nakhi, Director of the Sharjah Capability Development—a subsidiary of the Rubu’ Qarn Foundation for Creating Leaders and Innovators—stated:
"We are proud to launch the “Design and Build” programme, a valuable opportunity for young individuals aspiring to build their dream homes. This initiative is structured to provide practical insights, empowering participants to make informed decisions at every stage of construction and avoid common mistakes that can lead to increased costs or delays."
