Sharjah24: Liverpool continued its perfect start, achieving its fifth consecutive victory by deepening the wounds of defending champion Real Madrid with a 2-0 win in the fifth round of the Champions League.
The Liverpool team broke a 15-year curse with its victory over Real Madrid, winning 2-0 in the fifth round of the UEFA Champions League.

Alexis Mac Allister and Cody Gakpo scored Liverpool's goals in the 52nd and 77th minutes, respectively, bringing the English team's points total to 15 at the top of the standings, achieving a perfect score. This victory boosts their morale ahead of a tough test against Manchester City next Sunday in the league.

Meanwhile, the reigning champions, Real Madrid, suffered their second consecutive defeat after falling to AC Milan, marking their third loss in this season's European campaign, leaving them with six points and dropping to fourth place.

Liverpool secured its fourth win over Real Madrid and its first in their direct encounters since the English team won 4-0 in March 2009 in the Round of 16.

Since then, Real Madrid has dominated Liverpool in seven consecutive matches, with the English team managing only one draw against six defeats, including two losses in the final in 2018 and 2022.
