Sharjah24: LeBron James has announced that he will play for the Philadelphia 76ers next season, as the 41-year-old NBA star looks to turn another team into a championship contender.
A four-time NBA Most Valuable Player (MVP), James is widely regarded as one of basketball's greatest players, having won four NBA championships during a 23-year career. His most recent title came with the Los Angeles Lakers, whom he confirmed earlier this month he would not rejoin for the 2026–2027 season.

"The King" previously guided the Miami Heat to back-to-back NBA titles in 2013 and 2014, led his hometown Cleveland Cavaliers to their historic championship in 2016, and helped the Lakers claim the title in 2020.

James is now aiming to repeat that success in Philadelphia under a two-year, US$8 million contract, according to his agent, Rich Paul, speaking to ESPN.

Writing on X, James said: "I believe I can help make the Philadelphia 76ers a championship team. I'm incredibly excited to bring new energy and passion to a new fan base and begin this amazing journey one last time."
