Turkish delegation visits the Holy Quran Academy

Sharjah 24: A delegation from the Ministry of Culture and Tourism and the Turkish Mevlana Museum reviewed the Holy Quran Academy experience and the digital experience that harnesses data in the service of the museum sector, in addition to scientific and research projects, which embody Sharjah's vision to spread the Arab and Islamic identity and culture globally.
The delegation's visit to the complex was received by Dr. Faisal Al Suwaidi, Director of the Museums Department, who gave them a detailed explanation about the mission of the academy, its scientific role, projects and museums, and how to restore and preserve manuscripts.

The delegation, which included Birol Incegöz, Director General of Cultural Heritage and Museums at the Turkish Ministry of Culture and Tourism, and Dr. Naji Bakirci, Director of the Mevlana Museum in Konya, and the accompanying delegation, were taken on a tour of the academy’s museums, during which they learned about the history of writing the Holy Quran, rare manuscripts, rare copies of the Holy Quran from all over the world, the Kiswa of the Kaaba, and the academy’s unique treasures of knowledge available to visitors, interested parties, and researchers, in addition to the virtual museum tours it provides, which enable visitors from anywhere in the world to view this great legacy, through its website, reflecting the important role it plays in spreading and consolidating Arab and Islamic values and identity. 

Birol Incegöz, Director General of Cultural Heritage and Museums at the Turkish Ministry of Culture and Tourism, said that the Holy Quran Academy, which was established five years ago, has today become a scientific institution that performs a very important mission on the global level, serving the Holy Quran and its sciences, and consolidating the Arab and Islamic identity, through its scientific and museum projects, noting that he looks forward to more scientific activities provided by the academy to become more successful in the future.

Dr. Naji Bakirci, congratulated everyone who contributed to the establishment of the Holy Quran Academy. The historical experience of understanding the Holy Quran has been successfully transferred to visitors.

Dr. Naji Bakirci added that the academy has become a global centre for the history of the Holy Quran and its sciences, and the dissemination of Islamic culture and identity.

It is worth noting that the delegation is participating in the exhibition "Jalaluddin Rumi.. 750 Years of Absence.. Eight Centuries of Presence", which continues until February 14 at the House of Wisdom in Sharjah.
