Sharjah24: As part of the Tuesday Forum activities, the House of Poetry at the Department of Culture in Sharjah hosted an evening filled with creativity and eloquence, where words soared high towards the skies of beauty. The event took place on Tuesday, 19 November 2024, and featured Syrian poet Toufiq Ahmed, Yemeni poet Dr. Najoud Al-Qadi, and Egyptian poet Tarek El-Ganainy. The evening was hosted by Wissam Shia and was attended by Mohammed Abdullah Al Buraiki, the director of the House of Poetry, along with a large and diverse audience of poets, critics, and poetry lovers. The audience gathered at the House of Poetry to enjoy the poetry readings, engaging with the poets who graced the stage and delivered their finest verses.
The evening began with an introduction by Wissam Shia, who expressed his gratitude to His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, saying: "Thank you to the one who opened the doors wide, allowing the light of culture, poetry, and creativity to shine from Sharjah. Thanks to His Highness’s continued support and limitless generosity. My gratitude also extends to the Department of Culture, which has supported this unique cultural renaissance and formed its backbone, making Sharjah a destination for the world, and to the House of Poetry, which has become a beacon that attracts creative minds from every corner, shining brightly through its tireless efforts and endless contributions, led by Mohammed Al Buraiki. And thank you to everyone who has helped bring to life the most precious gift God has granted His creation – the word."

The poets then shared a series of moving poetry readings, and at the conclusion of the evening, Al Buraiki honoured the poets and the event’s host.
