The committee discussed the achievements of the first parliamentary session, as well as preparations for the current session's work.
Sheikha Ali Al-Naqbi, Chairperson of the committee, emphasised the committee's commitment to continuing the development of vital sectors in the emirate, including the media, culture, heritage, and archaeology sectors, as well as higher education and private education in Sharjah.
She pointed out the committee’s commitment to continue conducting field visits and discussing issues related to these important sectors to drive development and strengthen communication with relevant authorities.
The meeting was chaired by Sheikha Ali Al-Naqbi, in the presence of committee members, including Dr. Ahmed Saleh Al-Naqbi, committee rapporteur, Kaltham Saif Al-Tunaiji, Sheikha Khalfan Al-Naqbi, Moza Mu’dhid Bin Huwaidin, Yusuf Mohammed Al-Mazrouei, and Mohammed Ali Al-Manaei. Also attending the meeting were Huda Al-Hammadi, committee secretary, and Sumaya Mohammed Jassim, secretary of the council’s General Secretariat.
At the beginning of the meeting, Sheikha Al-Naqbi emphasised the committee's role in serving the community, highlighting that its activities encompass all members of the community, both citizens and residents.
She clarified that the committee would conduct visits and meetings with officials in government departments, as well as participate in public sessions to address issues and questions that strengthen the parliamentary role of the Consultative Council, particularly in education, sports, and media affairs.
The meeting discussed the committee’s upcoming plans, scheduling its objectives, and following up on projects related to the media, educational, cultural, and heritage sectors in the emirate. The committee also reviewed its plans to monitor private education institutions and continue coordinating with higher education institutions and cultural entities in Sharjah to strengthen effective partnerships and achieve common goals.
