Belhaif Al Nuaimi: 41 meetings between SCC and institutions

Sharjah 24: His Excellency Dr Abdullah Belhaif Al Nuaimi, Chairman of the Sharjah Consultative Council (SCC), revealed that the number of meetings held between the Council and various institutions has reached 41. He explained that this level of engagement and interaction with different bodies reflects a commitment to addressing public needs, in line with the vision of His Highness Sheikh Dr Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah. His Highness has long emphasised that the human being is at the heart of development—a principle the Council strives to uphold.

Constructive dialogue through legislative Sessions

In a statement to Sharjah 24, Al Nuaimi noted that the Council held 17 general sessions during its second legislative term. These sessions, while involving healthy debate and differing viewpoints, aimed to produce actionable recommendations for various departments. These are submitted to the Executive Council, which values the fact that they are the result of consistent and structured collaboration.

Legislative impact and public engagement

During this term, the Council discussed 10 draft laws and received 205 formal requests from stakeholders and the public. In response, it issued 23 official recommendations related to the policies of different government institutions—reinforcing its role as a bridge between the public and decision-makers.
