The Ukrainian air force claimed to have shot down 39 of the 71 drones launched from Russia. The attacks targeted Kyiv and surrounding regions, including Sumy, Kirovograd, and Poltava. Debris from intercepted drones caused damage to residential buildings in several areas, including Kyiv, and resulted in injuries.
In the Kyiv region, an elderly woman sustained shrapnel wounds, while a village near Kherson saw a fatality and injuries from artillery fire. Additionally, a hospital in Kherson was damaged, although no injuries were reported as staff and patients were sheltered at the time.
Ukraine's military chief warned that troops are facing one of the strongest Russian offensives since the invasion began.
