Sharjah 24 – AFP: Thousands attended a vigil on Saturday in Novi Sad, Serbia, to mourn the 14 victims of a train station roof collapse that occurred on Friday. Residents lit candles and laid flowers at a makeshift memorial, while many held papers with the victims' names.
Vigils took place across Serbia as citizens demanded accountability for the tragedy. "I am very sad... we need to grieve first," said student Anja Gvozdenovic.

Interior Minister Ivica Dacic announced an investigation, stating that the prosecutor's office would question 20 officials, including ministry representatives. The collapsed roof was not part of recent renovations completed in July.

President Aleksandar Vucic expressed condolences and promised that those responsible would be punished. Three injured individuals remain in serious condition.

Saturday was declared a day of mourning, with Novi Sad and the Vojvodina region observing three days of remembrance.
