Sharjah 24: On the occasion of "Flag Day," which falls on November 3 each year, Al Hamriyah Municipality launched its national initiative, "A Flag Over Our Home," for the eighth consecutive year. The municipality distributed UAE flags to residents and government entities in the area, aiming to foster values of loyalty and patriotism for the cherished homeland.
Through this national celebration, Al Hamriyah Municipality emphasised the importance of Flag Day as an event that holds a special place in the hearts of Emiratis. This day provides an opportunity to express pride and love for the UAE by raising the national flag, symbolising unity and belonging. Flag Day also highlights values of loyalty and national identity, strengthening the sense of solidarity and unity among all segments of UAE society.
Mubarak Rashid Al Shamsi, Director of Al Hamriyah Municipality, stressed the significance of active participation in this national event. He noted that Flag Day carries great symbolic importance, representing cohesion and unity between the wise leadership and the loyal people of the UAE. Through this noble initiative, residents and institutions contribute to strengthening national loyalty and preserving Emirati values and traditions.
Al Shamsi further explained that this national event plays a major role in building national awareness and enhancing the national identity, particularly among the younger generations. It offers everyone the opportunity to celebrate the nation’s history and reinforce patriotic values in all forms. This initiative reflects the UAE's commitment to preserving its heritage and culture, elevating them toward a bright future, and promoting social engagement and interaction among community members.
He added that the municipality's dedication to continuing this national celebration stems from the unity and togetherness of the UAE people, expressed in the love for their flag. The flag embodies numerous important values and concepts, particularly allegiance to the homeland, loyalty to its leadership, and unity in standing before this symbol of pride, sovereignty, and national solidarity in this grand national celebration.
