Seminar on domestic violence by Sociological Association

The event sought to bring together the association, pertinent organizations, and families to enhance awareness and diminish domestic violence while cultivating a safer and more respectful community.

The seminar commenced with a welcoming address by Dr Hala Al Ablam, a board member, who highlighted the significance of fostering open discussions regarding domestic violence and its multiple facets. The seminar concentrated on examining the origins of violence along with its psychological and social effects.

Key speakers included Dr Ali Atef, who examined the origins and categories of domestic violence, and Dr Ghanima Al Bahri, who detailed the UAE's legal framework and policies that assist victims. Amina Al-Badwawi outlined preventive strategies, emphasising the significance of awareness and social support programs. The seminar wrapped up with suggestions aimed at improving community awareness and reducing the social and psychological effects of domestic violence.
