UAE, Albania coordinate on firefighting efforts

Sharjah 24 – WAM: The UAE Rescue Team held a coordination meeting with several Albanian officials to boost joint efforts in firefighting operations at various sites in Albania.

Arrival of UAE rescue team in Albania

The team arrived in the Republic of Albania last Monday, following directives from President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, to assist in combating forest fires. As a result of the meeting, the UAE Rescue Team pledged full support to Albanian authorities in their mission to save lives and protect property.

Aerial firefighting missions

So far, the UAE Rescue Team has conducted eight aerial sorties over fire-affected regions in and around Gramsh, carrying out 38 water drops totaling more than 71,000 kilograms in a humanitarian effort to assist the Albanian people.

Albanian officials express gratitude

During the meeting, several Albanian officials expressed their appreciation to the UAE and to President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed for their solidarity. They also commended the UAE Rescue Team for its professionalism and the effectiveness that has accelerated the firefighting mission.
